With the 2010 World Cup getting closer we thought it an opportunity to showcase our earlier work done for the last World Cup in Germany 2006.
Creative Branding Agency Lambie Nairn approached us to work with them to produce the still image graphics for the 2006 Germany World Cup. We began work from their photography of the actual World Cup shot in Brazil, who were the holders at that time.
Before & After clean up:
Using their creative motion graphics work as our guide we approached the project in two stages. The photographs were digitally cleaned up first (after years of being held aloft and dropped so many times the cup wasn’t looking its best) then graphically retouched to create the final graphics that appeared during 2006 and will again in 2010.
After producing the two core cup images in rgb on a black backgrounds, a whole series of variations were created or reworked. For the core cup idents CMYK, monotone, duotone and black and white versions on black and white backgrounds were made. This required the flares and glows to be reworked and reversed to achieve a matching graphic across all the various versions.
Keep a look out over the coming months you should see these reappearing in various forms.
